Who am I? Do you have a crush on me? Are you the police? … both?

My name is Andrew and as I write this I am a 27 year old masters student studying horn performance.  I love anything and everything to do with the art of practicing, performing, and teaching! When I am not busy reading or playing, you can find me working as the brand manager for an online poker company or, on the very rare occasion, playing some Starcraft.

I decided to start this blog to share my interests and as an effort to make connections with people who share those interests.  However, I also believe that we are at a very interesting and exciting time for the industry.  What we do, whether it be teaching or performing, is all about communication.  Think about how drastically communication has changed over the past 10 years!  As a student, it also seems that the industry is changing, that the traditional careers many of our teachers had aren’t really options for a vast majority of us – but this does not mean that there are not new opportunities!  I hope that through my posts and conversations with you lovely people we can help to find and shape the face of the industry in the years to come.

I could ramble on for days, but that is not nearly as interesting as hearing what you have to say! Ideally this blog would not be run by just me, so if you share my interests and want to get into blogging, shoot me an email at

Happy practicing!
